User Guide to Smart Prestashop Speculation Rules

Prestashop Smart Speculation Rules Module Utilizing API Speculation rules to implement speculative loading technology, improve overall site performance.

This means that when customers float or are likely to click on the link, the module loads the target page in the background, making it ready for the loading is almost instant.

This module is beneficial for traders who aim to reduce the level of progress and increase customer involvement by providing a faster, smoother, and smoother search experience.

Note: Rules of Smart Speculation Prestashop are compatible with Multi-Toko Prestashop features.

• First, open the module manager at the back office and click ‘Upload Module’.
• After that, drag and place the module file or select files from the system.
• In this way, the module installation will succeed.

After the successful module installation, the new tab “Smart Speculation Rules” are available at the Prestashop back office.

From this tab, the admin can configure general settings and regulatory settings.

In general settings, the admin must configure how speculative loading must be applied on the website. Under the general settings, the admin can:

• Choose speculative action
• Select the type of speculation trigger
• Determine the delay time

i) Prefetch

Prefeting features download resources such as HTML, scripts, images, and stylesheets in the background so they are in -cache and ready when users navigate to the page.

The prenderrender feature loads and makes the entire pages in the background, making almost instant navigation.

This approach requires a significant more server resource and can be used for high priority navigation pathways.

Types of Speculation Triggers:

i) On-hover

The on-hover feature starts preloading only when users float on the link. This preserves resources by focusing on the link that is most likely to be clicked by customers.

ii) All links needed on the page

This feature starts speculative loading immediately after the page itself contains, preloading all detected links that meet the criteria.

Although this maximizes responsiveness, this can increase the use of bandwidth and server loads.

To use All links needed on the page Features, you must adjust the maximum level of desire and URL for prefeting per interval too:

Desire level:

This setting controls how aggressive the browser is speculating. You can choose anyone from the following options:

i) Immediately: The browser starts loading resources immediately after predicting they may be needed. This provides faster performance but consumes more memory and data.

ii) Medium: The browser is waiting or jumping over loading unless it is very possible that the resources will be needed. This preserves memory and data but can slightly reduce the response.

Max url for prefeting per interval:

Admin can determine the maximum number of links to speculate within a certain time frame of this setting.

Notes: For prenderdies, this field has been predetermined by the chrome limit.

Delay time:

That Delay time The option determines how long the system must wait before starting the speculative loading after the trigger event. Values ​​are defined in milliseconds (MS).

The rules setting allows the admin to determine specific conditions in which speculative loading should not be applied.

This ensures that unnecessary resources are not loaded for unwanted or irrelevant pages.

You can exclude speculative loading from certain pages using the following options:

The Blacklist / Url that is ignored: This option allows the admin to determine the right url path that must be excluded from speculative loading.

Keywords do not include url: This option allows the admin to define keywords that, when in the URL, will exclude the appropriate pages from the speculative loading.

Exclude voter compatibility: This option allows the admin to exclude specific elements on the page so as not to be processed for speculative loading, using voters or CSS patterns.

Prefets that are triggered by speculation rules can be seen at Network Panels in the same way as other fetches:

A new Speculative load The part has been added at Application Chrome Devtools Panel, below Background service Section, to help in the Speculation rules:

There are three tabs available in this section:

• Speculative load which includes the prenderous status of the current page.
• Rule Which includes all the set of rules found on the current page, which is designated as a url or tag of rules, if any.
• Speculation which includes all prefets and prenderch urls from the set set.
