User Guide for Odoo PayPal Payment Manual Capture

Odoo PayPal Payment Manual Retrieval helps you manage PayPal Payments with complete control. This creates an Authorized Payment first so the customer is not charged instantly.

This gives admin time to review each Payment Transaction from the Backend. It makes handling Secure Payments easy and safe.

With this flow, you can capture or cancel payments only when the order is ready. This reduces fraud, errors, and refund issues.

1. Enable manual capture mode to control when PayPal Payments are charged.
2. Make Authorized Payments at checkout instead of charging customers instantly.
3. Capture or Cancel Transactions later directly from the Backend.
4. Manage every Payment Transaction easily from Sale Orders and Invoices.
5. Track PayPal authorization ID for each Authorized Payment record.
6. Confirm Secure Payment only after admin approval.
7. Reduce payment errors and fraud with manual collection controls.

1. Once you purchase the App from Webkul store, you will receive a link to download zip module submit.
2. Extract the files on your system once the download is complete. As a result, you will be able to see a folder named- ‘paypal_payments_manual_capture’
3. Copy and paste this folder inside your folder Odoo Add-ons Path.
4. Now, open the Odoo Application and click on the Settings menu. Here, click Enable Developer Mode.
5. Then, open the Application menu and click ‘Update Module List.’
6. In the search bar, clear all filters and search for ‘paypal_payment_manual_capture’
7. You will be able to see Odoo PayPal Payment Manual Capture in the search results. Click on ‘Activate‘ to install it.

Configuration of Odoo PayPal Payment Manual Retrieval

1. From the Odoo backend, open it Website → Configuration → Payment Provider → PayPal and go to PayPal provider.
   Here, enter PayPal Email, Client ID, Client Secret, and Webhook IDthen activate it Test Mode or Enabled country.

2. Go to Configuration PayPal provider tab and activate it Capture Amount Manually so the system only authorizes payment at checkout.

3. Navigate to Website → Configuration → Payment Provider and find it PayPal providers in the list. Make sure PayPal is marked as Published and visible to customers for checkout.

4. Add products to cart and proceed to checkout on your website. Choose PayPal as a payment method to initiate the Official Payment process.

5. Customers are directed to the PayPal login page to log in with their PayPal account or select a payment method.

6. After logging in, customers select the desired PayPal payment method such as card, bank, or PayPal balance.

Once the customer completes the PayPal approval, the order is successfully placed in Odoo. The website shows the message “Your payment has been authorized.”

Go to related Payment Transactions in the backend where the status is displayed Official. You can see Capture Transactions, Cancel Transactionand it PayPal Authorization ID field here.

9. Click Capture Transactions button to open the pickup popup and enter the pickup amount.

10. After capture, the system determines the transaction status Confirmed and save PayPal Capture ID along with Number Arrested fields in the backend.

11. If you want to cancel your order before pickup, click Cancel Transaction button to cancel authorized payment.

12. After cancellation, the payment transaction status changes to Canceled with a success message.
