November 25 Update: Tests in Comet & Atlas Browsers, Latest MCP Improvements, and More

November’s release includes the latest web browsers (Comet and Atlas), changes to MCP authentication and regional handling, new HyperExecute features for faster test analysis, and more!

Test on Latest Browsers: Comet & Atlas

We’ve added the Comet and Atlas browsers for manual testing and private automation:

• Automated Testing: You can now run automated test scripts specifically in the Comet browser, enabling validation of functionality and regression scenarios within existing pipelines.
• Private Manual Testing: You can perform interactive manual desktop browser testing on Comet and Atlas browsers in a private cloud, enabling real-time debugging, UI verification, and live workflow exploration.

Notes: Support for these browsers is available upon request. Atlas currently only supports manual testing, while Comet supports both automated and manual testing.

LambdaTest MCP: OAuth 2.1 Authentication and Regional Support

We’ve introduced new improvements and support in MCP LambdaTest Server that improve security and configuration flexibility. It helps you manage connections and analyze test results across regions without changing your code.

• OAuth 2.1 Authentication: MCP now only supports OAuth 2.1 Bearer token authentication. The username and access key method is deprecated. Clients that support OAuth2 handle authentication automatically, simplifying setup and ensuring secure connections.
• Region Configuration: You can configure region-specific access to MCP servers, allowing you to run tests closer to target users and reduce latency while maintaining consistent test behavior.
• Migration and Configuration Guide: Update your MCP client to use OAuth2 and remove old credentials. No manual token handling is required, and all LambdaTest MCP tools remain compatible with this setup.

Deep Linking and Drag-and-Drop Support in LambdaTest KaneAI

In KaneAI’s LambdaTest, you can now test more complex interface behavior using deep linking and drag-and-drop support.

• Deep Linking for Mobile App Building: Deep linking in KaneAI allows you to navigate to specific screens or actions in your mobile app via a URL.

Using it in KaneAI allows you to jump to a specific view without going through the usual steps. This is useful for triggering flows, checking for edge cases, or starting tests from a consistent state.

• Drag and Drop for Web Applications: KaneAI now supports drag and drop and click and drag actions for desktop web applications.

Using KaneAI’s drag-and-drop feature, you can test moving items between containers, customize sliders, resize elements, and work with charts. This makes it easy to confirm behavior in interfaces that rely on repositioning or steady movement.

New HyperExecute Feature for Faster Analysis and Reliable Execution

LambdaTest HyperExecute now aggregates information from different environments into a single view and allows you to create reports directly within the platform.

• Job Insights View: You can analyze combined test results from parallel or distributed test executions, track differences between processes, and identify trends to detect potential defects.



• Catalon Report Creation Support: You can export Katalon-compatible HTML reports, ensuring test results remain consistent with the format used in Katalon Studio 10 and later.



• Rerun Failed Tests in HyperExecute: You can rerun failed tests in HyperExecute or rerun a complete test suite directly from the HyperExecute dashboard. The same YAML configuration applies to each replay, and you can choose the deployment and concurrency levels without adjusting any other settings.
• Scout Compatibility: HyperExecute Snooper relies on Glibc (GNU C Library), so you won’t be able to run tests on Alpine images that use Musl. Using a non-Alpine base avoids compatibility issues and keeps the environment stable during troubleshooting or updates.
• View and Verify Code-Signed HyperExecute CLI Binaries: You can now verify the authenticity of HyperExecute CLI binaries by checking their digital signatures. Each release includes a signature that you can verify on Linux, macOS, or Windows before using the HyperExecute CLI binary.

Latest SmartUI Features to Improve Visual Test Reliability

This update helps you analyze visual test results more consistently by controlling dynamic content and protecting sensitive information during snapshot capture.

• Custom CSS Injection: SmartUI’s Custom CSS Injection feature allows you to apply test-specific styles during snapshot capture without changing your app’s source code. This feature allows:
• Stabilizing Visual Tests: Normalize dynamic content to ensure consistent results across environments.
• Covering Sensitive Information: Hide private data during testing to keep your testing environment secure.
• Centralized Test Logic: Manage all visual test rules in one place, ensuring easy maintenance while separating them from your production code.

Email Improvements in Build Insights

At LambdaTest Test Insights, we’ve updated Build Insights email notifications to make it easier for you to check test metrics right from your inbox.

• Interactive Dashboard Summary: Emails for user-created dashboards now include a clickable test count. Selecting a number will take you directly to the corresponding test result in Build Insights.
• Improved Navigation: You can access specific test information without manually opening the dashboard, helping you analyze test results with fewer steps.
• Workflow Efficiency: This update reduces navigation time for teams that rely on email notifications and makes the metrics in each summary immediately actionable.
