User Guide for Odoo Key Attachments

Odoo’s Lock Attachments module allows locking attachments and notes. You can enable or disable the key attachment feature with just one click.

Users can access and lock any attachments or notes they want. Locked notes cannot be edited or deleted.

And if users try to delete an attachment or note, they will get a validation error.

1. Once you purchase the App from Webkul store, you will receive a link to download zip module submit.
2. Extract the files on your system once the download is complete. As a result, you will be able to see a folder named- ‘wk_lock_attachment.
3. Copy and paste this folder inside your folder Odoo Add-ons Path.
4. Now, open the Odoo Application and click on the Settings menu. Here, click Enable Developer Mode.
5. Then, open the Application menu and click ‘Update Module List.’
6. In the search bar, clear all filters and search for ‘wk_lock_attachment‘
7. You will be able to see the module in the search results. Click on ‘Install‘ to install it.

1. Enable Key Attachment Feature from User Configuration.

After installing Odoo Key Attachment module, open Settings → Users & Company → Users.
Select the desired user (for example, Admin).

2. Under Access Rights → Otherscheck Allow Locking/Unlocking Attachments choice.
This allows users to lock or unlock attachments and notes.

3. Lock or Unlock Notes Easily.

Users can lock or unlock notes by clicking Lock Icon at the top of the recording form.

4. Validation Message When Trying to Edit a Locked Note.

When a recording is locked, the user can’t edit it. If any effort is made,

Odoo displays a validation error message, indicating that editing is restricted.

5. Validation Message When Trying to Delete a Locked Note.

If the user tries delete locked notesOdoo displays a validation error message that prevents deletion.

6. Lock or Unlock Attachments Easily

Attachments can locked or unlocked by clicking Lock Icon on the right side of each attachment. Locked attachments cannot be deleted.

8. Unlock Attachments or Notes When Needed

Admin or authorized user can unlock attachments or notes any time by clicking Unlock Icon.

Once opened, files or notes can be edited or deleted according to user access rights.
